Sleek, floating, large sideboard – model 1730 designed by Horst Brüning (Germany) for Behr in 1967. This XL floating sideboard has three aluminum sliding doors and a white laminated ‘corpus’. An innovative and modern design that still looks sleek and modern 50 years later.
This large floating sideboard is mounted on the wall with a long shelf (see picture).
Industrial designer Horst Brüning was born in Germany in 1934. He studied design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg and worked for several German high end design companies before founding his own design studio in 1963. Brüning was known for his innovative and functional designs, particularly in the areas of lighting and furniture. He has collaborated with several well-known brands, including Philips, Flos and Walter Knoll, and his designs have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.
Some of Brüning’s most notable designs include the “Magneto” table lamp, the “Polo” chair and the “Bistro” table for Knoll International. His work has won numerous design awards, including the Red Dot Design Award and the Good Design Award.
Brüning died in 2007, but his contributions to industrial design are still celebrated and his designs remain highly sought after by collectors.
