The Topan lamp was designed by Verner Panton (Denmark) in 1959. This design was first produced by Louis Poulsen, but since 2011 by &Tradition. These spherical Topan lamps are open at the bottom and made of red lacquered aluminum. To prevent the Topan lamp from blinding people, Panton hung the lamp as low as possible above the table or floor. The Topan is a beautiful Danish Design product. The lamps have a cord of 3 meters in length.
The Topan lamps are marked.

Danish designer and architect Verner Panton (1926–1998) is renowned for his avant-garde furniture creations as well as his vibrant and distinctive interior designs. One of the most significant designers of the 20th century, his creations still serve as an inspiration to modern designers.

Bold color choices, organic shapes, and creative material choices were the hallmarks of Panton’s designs. He was one of the first designers to experiment with inflatable furniture and was particularly interested in discovering new manufacturing processes and materials, like molded plastic and fiberglass.

Some of Panton’s most well-known creations are the Flowerpot Lamp, a spherical lamp with a reflective surface, and the Panton Chair, a cantilevered chair created from a single piece of molded plastic.
