Aldo van den Nieuwelaar designed the A’dammer in 1973 and in 1978 Pastoe (the Netherlands) started to produce this cupboard. Since then the A’dammer became a true Dutch Design Classic. This small black A’dammer sideboard has two characteristic roller doors instead of one since it is 90 degrees turned from the standing A’dammer. Postmoden 80s design.
Aldo van den Nieuwelaar (1944-2010) was a Dutch Industrial Designer and Architect. He started inspirated by Rietveld, De Stijl and Bauhaus. But added playfull postmodernism to his designs. Some of the designs by Van den Nieuwelaar were part of exhobitions in the Museum of Modern Art and Stedelijk Amsterdam.
