Newly reupholstered Ploum 4 seater sofa from Studio Bouroullec, for Ligne Roset, France. This Ploum sofa is covered with the exclusive light green Kvadrat Febrik – Triangle 932. In 2011, the brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec created this incredibly appealing, organically curved, and comfy sofa. According to Studio Bouroullec:

“We have tried to create a very comfortable, contemporary sofa. An exercise in comfort, Ploum combines two materials: stretch fabric upholstery and ultra-flexible high resilient foam. Its shape and enormous proportions are (…) to fit the whole body in many different positions on the smooth, padded surface of this edgeless sofa. The seat is relatively low, we wanted it to be organically shaped. We envisioned Ploum as a ripe, voluptuous piece of fruit.

Perhaps the use of a stretchy fabric is a symbolic parallel to a contemporary lifestyle, in which flexibility in use and comfort seem essential to us.”

This Ploum sofa has been professionally upholstered with a green woolen stretch fabric from Kvadrat Febrik – Triangle 932. The seat and back of the sofa are padded. This four-seat sofa is asymmetrical; on the left the backrest is higher, on the right the seat is deeper and the zipper on the back is not in the middle.
