George Nelson – Miller – Executive Desk from the 9000 series

George Nelson – Miller unique L-shaped executive desk. This desk, which has an attached sideboard, is part of Herman Miller’s 9000 Series. The desk features cupboards, drawers, and a ton of storage space. A glass tray can be pulled out. There is a special cupboard for the paper basket and on the frontside a cupboard to store your licor. Additionally, the wood grain structure of the dark wood/veneer is very lovely. Considering its age, the desk and sideboard in this set are still in excellent shape with only typical signs of wear (see images).
The desk has two Herman Miller marks (see pictures).

Nelson (1908-1986) was a pioneering American designer known for his influential work with Herman Miller, an iconic furniture manufacturer. Nelson’s design philosophy was deeply rooted in the principles of functionality and innovation. His work with Herman Miller produced a lot of iconic designs, such as the Coconut Chair, Marshmallow Sofa, and the Bubble Lamp series, which are celebrated for their playful and functional aesthetics. Nelson was not only a designer but also a forward-thinking creative director at Miller. Bringing together a team of exceptional designers, including Charles and Ray Eames and Isamu Noguchi.
