In 1963, Friso Kramer and Wim Rietveld designed the “Reply” drafting table for the Dutch manufacturer Ahrend de Cirkel, inspired by the work of Jean ProuvĂ©. This iconic piece of industrial Dutch design is crafted to meet diverse needs. With its versatility, the worktop can be adjusted to all possible positions: high for standing work, low for seated work or creative activities of children, and even flat as a regular table.
The easy-to-use mechanisms, consisting of just two buttons, make it convenient to adjust the height and position. The frame of the “Reply” drafting table is made of folded sheet steel, with legs that provide stability and strength during use. The model features a gray painted metal frame and a wooden top.
The timeless design of this drafting table was awarded the prestigious design prize “Signe d’Or” in Brussels in the same year of its introduction. With its combination of functionality, elegance, and craftsmanship, the “Reply” drafting table remains an essential piece in the world of industrial design.
