The Congo is a fine example of playful design from the 50s. This chair was designed by Theo Ruth in 1952 for Artifort. Ruth was inspired by African chairs. This chair consists of two parts that keep each other in perfect and firm balance. The seat offers a lot of comfort due to the sturdy suspension that Artifort incorporated into the chairs at that time. This chair has black lacquered organically shaped legs and isprofessionally re-upholstered with a luxurious bouclé fabric (a rich blend of wool and cotton). A true eye catcher!
